Nobody actually gives it much thought.
Everyone seems quite happy to just accept the history as given by other Reiki practitioners, and…
No matter which story of the origins of Reiki you choose to believe in - you are asked to accept that the ability to channel Reiki can only be passed on to you by an existing Reiki Master.
And, at least initially, this sounds plausible and quite acceptable…

Good mornin’ all…
I have titled this Sunday Chat talking to myself, which in truth, is what we all do 
Now, the energy this week has felt very much about finishing things, finalising things, tying up loose ends. Making sure everything is in order so there can be a surge forward… almost with the Spring high tides here in the UK.
In the midst of the apathy and lethargy which is also rampant is the underlying feeling that something monumental is going to happen soon…
This week we have made the decision that Mr Po, our very own lucky black cat, will have to be put to sleep.
Even though he is generally OK, he is beginning to fade fast and we don’t want him to be uncomfortable living a slow death, when he could be happier released from his ailing body and his spirit set free.
I have been sharing my thoughts about this in the forum and I have spoken about death to others, many times.
But it catches you unawares when you are the one who has to make that call… 
So this week I have looked at my replies to others and I have been heeding my own advice
This is not about Mr Po, he is fine about dying and I know intuitively that he is happy to let us go. He is ready.
It is us who are not…
This is where I have to use my Reiki self treatments to keep myself focussed and balanced.
In the silence I can be steadfast and true, strong and connected to myself.
With that connection to my inner being secure, I can then move forward with confidence.
For there is only the one energy and Mr Po and I become one in that space. Our energies blend seamlessly.
As I talk out loud, I know what is the loving thing to do – for all of us…

HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY for all us Mum’s here in the UK
The weather this week has been champion… fine and dry and bright. Just the sort of weather for walking across the cliffs to St. Abbs for a sniffty bit… ha ha ha!
Anyone would think we enjoyed doing that walk
We saw our first spring lambs out in the fields on Wednesday, so Spring really is here at last
And, they are just the cutest little things ever…
The sunshine certainly lifts your spirits and makes those aches and pains disappear in a jiffy too… perfick!

I have self attuned 3 weeks ago – have been using the 12 hand positions every day and took part in the webcast with Judith on Saturday night. I now feel tinglings in my hands and heat.
After 2 treatments my husband’s hurt knee is no better. How long before I can ‘see’ results.
Sorry if I seem impatient but having had treatment myself in the past, I know it works for others.

Good mornin’ all…
What a strange week this has been.
Lots of people I know seem to have ‘caught something’ or been taken poorly or had some mishap happen to them…
Nothing too huge or too inconvenient but troublesome none the less…
More of a botheration, than anything else I suppose.
But sometimes these bumps and small knocks in life are simply our way of adjusting the course we are steering through the universe of our own creation.
So whilst you repair those bumps and bruises with a daily dose of Reiki for yourself, remember to just sit there a while longer and contemplate the direction your life is going in too.
Perhaps you will ‘sense’ if there are any adjustments – no matter how small – that you could be making, to make life all the more perfick for yourself
Because your intuition, just like your Reiki, is no good unless you use it… ha ha ha!

Q… Thanks for your Sunday chats, I love them.
After reading about the link with emotional problems it made me wonder if there is a connection to something which makes me clumsy.
I am continually tripping and bumping into things. In the past few months I have broken my little toe then my big toe on my right foot. I feel there must be a reason I keep hurting myself.
My husband suggested I cover myself in bubble wrap but joking aside I hope you can make a suggestion.

And a pretty damp one it is too. It’s the 6 Nations Rugby Tournament this weekend…
…so, for me anyway, the rain is just to complete the scene
But on the brighter side we have a surprise visit from Christian. Both Chris and Chris will be glued to the TV and I shall stay in the kitchen… ha ha ha!
It’s a ‘pie and chips followed by cake’ sort of a weekend

Q… Last night I was reading a book about hands on healing and it was mentioned that we need to be in good condition, energetically, in order not to be drained when we give healing…
You also mentioned something like that in a previous Sunday Reiki Chat. Not to be like the battery of a torch when we give to people.
I am about to start giving Reiki in my home, on a more regular basis, to the public, on top of my normal day job. I’m wondering about this point.
I thought in giving Reiki, it is different, as we channelled this UNIVERSAL LIFE FORCE ENERGY.
And in giving it, you also get energised as well, as it goes through you.
I have never felt drained in giving it but I have only given to my family members and friends.

It’s been a little frosty this week for us, both literally and symbolically!
For, along with the usual email ‘telling us’ in no uncertain terms that our Chikara-Reiki-Do self-attunement is not a valid attunement to Reiki…
We received a message from one of our Chikara-Reiki-Do Masters who’d tried to join a couple of the more well known ‘Reiki Clubs’…
…and been refused entry because they self-attuned.
Now this, of course, is quite okay – as each ‘Reiki club’ is totally free to make up their own minds on what is ‘acceptable to them’ membership criteria.
But as our self-attuned Chikara-Reiki-Do Master has been refused admission on the grounds they are not ‘properly’ attuned I thought we’d better take a little look at this.
So hold on to your hats.
You see, I developed the Reiki SELF-attunement process because I truly believe it’s vitally important for everyone.
It is YOU acknowledging your own sovereign power!
It is YOU confirming YOU as being the sole driving force – the sole creator – of your own life path and all the experiences you choose to have along the way.
For there is only ONE universal life force energy – only ONE Universal Consciousness – it is you and you are it.
And Reiki is simply a name given to a particular quality of this, your own, remarkable energy…
