Reiki Aids For Depression

Good mornin’ all…

Hope you all had a deliciously smooth chocolaty day on St. Valentine’s :-)

So far this week we have had sunshine and dry crisp days… perfect for walking about wrapped up cosy. It’s so nice to get out in the fresh air and get some sun on your skin and the retina of your eyes. On Tuesday we went around the cliffs at St.Abbs again and it was positively summer weather :-) I was so over dressed in my hat, coat, scarf and gloves and big fleecy jumper I was virtually steaming… ha ha ha!

It was a ‘good to be alive’ type day :-) Many of the schools are on holidays for a week just now so there were a lot more walkers about. Louise from the wool shop was doing a roaring trade in afternoon teas when we arrived :-)

I just don’t believe what the doctors say about the sun being bad for you. And here on the Scotland/England border we don’t exactly get an overdose… ha ha ha! It feels good to get some sun on your crown chakra and just absorb the goodness.

Okay – I keep talking about shifts and changes happening and you all keep telling me what is happening for you too but…

Lots of people are finding the change and shift in energy a little overwhelming and the clearouts depressing. Whether these are physical as in colds and chesty conditions or emotional pick-me-ups after a breakdown or relationship split. So I thought I would answer a depressing question for you :-)

But first, a little something…

…On Risking

To laugh is to risk appearing the fool.

To weep is to risk appearing sentimental.

To reach out for another is to risk involvement.

To expose feelings is to risk exposing our true self.

To place your ideas, your dreams, before the crowd is to risk loss.

To love is to risk not being loved in return.

To live is to risk dying.

To hope is to risk despair.

To try at all is to risk failure.

But to risk, we must, because the greatest hazard in life is to risk nothing.

The man, the woman who risks nothing does nothing, has nothing, is nothing.

Author unknown.

At the moment many people are against the wall with financial pressure, the after Christmas slump etc. Then there’s the cracks in relationships with the likes of Valentine’s Day stressing things further :-( This is when you need to use your Reiki to keep yourself level and steady – as in the, Just for today entreaty … Just for today, you have a roof over your head, food on the table and enough money to have a computer and electric to read this :-)

That’s a starting point from which we can build – and build our self confidence too. The more ‘mistakes’ we make, the better we can adjust and tailor our lives to suit us perfectly.

Okay then… the question this week…

I have been deeply sad and very depressed for many, Many years! I have been to various psychologists and other types of therapists and have even taken different kinds of anti-depressants, but have not been able to have my problems resolved (I now feel those were merely ‘band-aid’ solutions to the real problem!).

I still drift off into sadness and depression. I believe it may have to do with some kind of Energy within, which of course is not discussed and dealt with by the average therapist. I truly believe we are spiritual beings trapped inside a physical body, so of course the spirit needs attending to.

What is the best way to deal with Depression?

I realize there are probably many different things that can be tried, but I am merely looking for your professional opinion since you are in the field of Energy Healing.

Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to your reply.

Kindest,

R.M.

Now the answer…

Hi R.M.

Below are some general ideas for depression but if you don’t mind me speaking out loud (and sometimes in ‘French’, as it were), here goes :-)

When you are ‘depressed’ that is exactly what you are doing… depressing, suppressing, squashing yourself before others. Out of fear or panic or whatever, you control yourself to the point of death… the ultimate repression… ha ha ha!

In fact you have said… I would contemplate death over living.

But you fear death too… you are so consumed with FEAR you are afraid to do anything. But what exactly are you so afraid off?

Your aggression? Which when turned in on yourself/suppressed, creates guilt and pain. Self directed aggression leads to suicide… But who would you really like to murder?

Depression is also the ultimate cop-out. A great way to avoid responsibility. You won’t take any action or exercise. The excuses will flow like the Ganges at the very thought of ‘doing’ something constructive…

Movement, change, companionship and communication… these are the issues you fear and so avoid… But these issues are also the stuff we call LIFE…

Get angry, **** the b******s… let’s live a little! Dare… I double dare you to simply be you. Be the very best you, you can be right now. And as my Mother used to say… “There’s no such word as can’t, it’s won’t more like…”

Life is a gift you give to yourself… if you don’t like it, change it, alter it, adapt it or end it. Whatever you choose as being right for you right now, is exactly that… right for you. I judge not.

OK ideas…

I’m sure you may have tried some of these but they do all help…

No bread :-)

Yes… true, it makes your energy slump and makes you feel dull and sluggish.

Increase your heart rate with exercise… running, skipping, walking more – with the dog or without the dog!

Just being physically active helps. I can hear the groans from here :-) ‘Action’ of any sort, is a great depression buster but it is hard to get off your arse when you feel down :-)

So eat at least 3 bananas a day to lift your mood… they contain a chemical that promotes the formation of serotonin in your brain.

Also help others… across the road if necessary! It takes your mind off your troubles if you borrow someone else’s for a while :-) And while you are ‘busy elsewhere’ it gives the universe chance to work in your favour without you interfering.

But one of the best things to beat depression is laughter. Try the 10 minute laughing meditation every morning. I kid not…

You will have to force a squeak out at first but then you will feel so silly you just have to laugh :-)

It really will set up the day… Never lose your sense of humour. There is always a funny side to things. If you can look back in 6 months and laugh at this then, you can laugh at it now.

Trust me, your tale of ‘the dark night of the soul’ will be captivating… sure, it’s the way you tell ‘em…

Chin-up…

Another little Reiki tip is to wear insoles in your shoes with the Tibetan Master symbol drawn on them. This helps you to stride out with confidence.

Okay that’s it for this week, but before I go – don’t forget if you want a little look into your future, I’m doing personal psychic energy readings and you can get all the details by clicking here

Well I know a delicious Sunday Lunch will put a smile on my face :-)

So, have a wonderful day everyone – and may the sun shine in your life as well as on your face.

Chuffin’ grand :-)
