Reiki Basics

Good mornin’ all…

Heck the weather’s been a bit up and down this week!

But we’ve enjoyed two walks around the cliffs at St.Abbs in what was glorious sunshine with a bitterly cold wind. Then we had some snow, sleet and sloppy rain! All a bit yukky and so quick to change Talk about living in the moment… ha ha ha! The high winds have reminded us of the near horizontal walking we had to do at our previous house up on the hill…

I’ve added a couple of snaps of the snow/sleet in the back garden and of some little snowdrops just further into the woods….

And as soon as the weather picks up I’ll add more photos of our outings to give you a more rounded flavor of Scotland :-)

By the way, anyone interested in knitting or yarns and textiles please pop into Louise’s site from St.Abbs. She has kindly been providing teas and coffee for winter walkers like ourselves while the tearoom proper has been closed ’til the summer season starts again. I have to admit to buying the gorgeous red shawl that her daughter is modelling on her site – just couldn’t resist.

Here’s some picture’s of me modelling mine :-)

And here’s where you can take a look at her website…

Or her blog…

That’s a little deviation from Reiki there so I’d best get back on track, sorry lads… ha ha ha!

Life is so easy to take for granted with us all doing the things we do without thinking. But we all had to start somewhere. We were all learner drivers once:-)! And the same goes for using our Reiki skills. Once we were all beginners and needed to practice everything over and over until it becomes second nature.

So I never mind answering even the daftest sounding question, about Reiki that is, unless of course it’s ultra, ultra daft :-) So please, never hesitate to ask.

This week I’m replying to a very simple question – but it’s just the sort of thing we need to know at the beginning of our journey.

Reiki is not complicated or difficult (really, really, know that) and you can always adjust things to suit your personality and the circumstances. Never be afraid to alter or adapt Reiki for the needs of the moment… for there is only ‘the moment’ :-) And the more you learn to trust yourself, the more confident you will be, not just as a healer, but in all other areas of your life too.

Ok… Here’s the question…

Dear Judith,

I would like to ask you a question concerning activating symbols.

I would like to know if, for the Cho Koo Ray, I should say its name three times while drawing it out? Or wait until after I’ve drawn it and then say it? For the other symbols the same also.

Thank you to answer me as soon as possible.

With Love & Light

Warmest Regards

L

The reply…

Hi L

Whichever feels most comfortable for YOU to do is the best.

At first drawing and speaking the name together may not flow – but later when you don’t have to ‘think’ so much about the ‘how’ of drawing the symbol – you may be able to draw and speak them at the same time.

But either way is perfect…

You may even find it easier to just ‘see’ the symbol kanji as a picture, instead of drawing it out line by line. Simply ‘see’ the symbol as completely as you can in your minds eye whilst saying the name 3 times. Because always remember – as with everything – it’s your intention which is the most important thing, always.

And as with everything else, learning to do things slowly and deliberately in the beginning is one of the best ways of establishing your own rhythm. Just because your friend or teacher does it one way, doesn’t mean it’s going to flow that way for you.

Just remember to keep it simple at all times :-) For Reiki really is simple!

I hope this has helped those of you who ‘didn’t like to ask’ such a straightforward but basic question. So often in life we forget the simple things and seem to over complicate matters.

Now back to basics and a good wholesome Sunday Lunch. DC will be out rehearsing his dance routine for the March show of Oklahoma again so will have to miss his lunch for a few weeks to come. (I wonder if Garry does takeout?…ha ha ha!)

But first I need to wrap up warm in my new red shawl :-)

Stay cosy folks…

Judith.

PS…Don’t forget Leo’s special discount, that we offered last week, runs out on Tuesday…
