Mornin’ all
Sail boats at the ready… the big thaw is happening now…ha ha ha!!!
If it involves wet weather we get it over here!
But finally the lads have cleared the front courtyard of the thick ice and we can now get the car out
Freedom!!!
Christmas has gone, New Year has gone, the snow is almost gone and now the next two weeks stretch out in front like a huge chasm…
The end of January is often slow and wearing. All the excitement has fizzled out.
The boss is back to being bossy
Your busy social life has bombed
And any cracks in any relationship have probably widened like the split in your pre-diet, bulging trousers… ha ha ha!
So, a champion thing to beat the January blues is to take action of some sort to move you towards one of your goals.
First thing is to write your goals down though – and you have done that, of course, haven’t you…
Now, don’t be put off by what others think, for that is simply their opinion and the only opinion that should ever count to you, is yours…
So if you have stopped smoking and now no-one notices… well done you! Carry on moving towards that goal of health.
If the diet is beginning to flag and the Easter chocolate eggs are beckoning… well done you for resisting and moving towards your target dress/trouser size.
And if those weights are just gathering dust in the corner of the room, move towards them and get started now
But today is Sunday – so put your feet up on the sofa while the lunch cooks and enjoy a nice cuppa… chuffin’
OK… here’s a good question…
Q… I would like to run a Reiki 1 and 2 courses for a few of my existing clients.
Also, I would like to join the UK Reiki Federation as a Master Practitioner/Teacher.
One of their requirements is that I provide them with a certificate stating that I am able to teach Reiki.
So, am I allowed to teach Reiki and do I need to join some federation/organisation in order to have more “credibility” as a practitioner/teacher?
I studied Usui Reiki 1 and 2 under The Venerable Tenzin Choden in India for a year during 1998. I practised Reiki in South Africa after that and finally got Master attunements from yourselves in January 2009.
I have since been practising Reiki in Scotland.
So you can imagine that I find all these “federations” and rules a bit much for the sake of “credibility”.
I would appreciate it if you could clear up the issues around teaching Reiki and joining some group for me.
Thank you for your help.
And my answer…
A… Firstly, you do not need to be a member of any ‘Reiki club’ to teach or pass on Reiki.
You only need to be a Reiki Master.
Now, many Reiki teachers split the level of Reiki Master into two distinct levels – Reiki Master Practitioner and Reiki Master Teacher – just to make more money…
…and the only difference between the two levels is simply this:
A Reiki Master Practitioner is not shown how to attune others to Reiki – and that’s all!
By the way – our Ultimate Reiki Package shows you everything you need to know about attuning others to Reiki…
…using the ordinary Usui breath method and also – how to guide your students through their own powerful self-attunements using our Chikara-Reiki-Do method…
So, you most definitely are a Reiki Master Teacher.
And please remember this – none of the original Reiki Master certificates state Master Teacher on them, because the earliest Reiki Master training gave you everything.
Our certificate is original in wording and valid for insurance purposes.
Now for the record – we have nothing against the Reiki Alliance or Federation, some people like belonging to clubs. But we prefer total independence in mind, body and spirit
And also remember this – we are a very large group in ourselves!
So, to make things a little clearer…
You will become a Reiki Master Practitioner/Teacher using our course of both self-attunement and distance attunement to Reiki…
…but unfortunately, some say fortunately, the Reiki Alliance or Federation may not recognise your training or allow you to join their ‘club’.
That is not to say your training with us is any better or worse, it’s just that they choose not to recognise it.
But all this ‘You have to join our club’ stuff is simply another avenue of control – not forgetting all those lovely, juicy, joining fees too, of course!
So I will have to leave you to decide if you wish to become an independent, individual Chikara-Reiki-Do Reiki Master or a controlled and regulated, fee paying club member
I became a Reiki Master in March 98 and I have never joined any ‘club’… except my own
As to credibility, well, I’ve ‘trained’ thousands of Reiki students to the level of Reiki Master…ha ha ha!!!
And they’ve gone on to be exceptionally credible Reiki teachers and brilliant Reiki practitioners too – and how could they not be?
For they made the fearless decision to intentionally tap into the Reiki energy already living within them – and which lives within everyone else too!
Remember, either you can do a thing or you can’t and no amount of certificates will prove a damn thing.
But if you are still here since 1998 and still have people coming to you, then you must be doing something right
A certificate is just someone else’s opinion that you can do something…
But the only opinion that counts to YOU – is YOURS!
Can you do Reiki? Do you feel ready to teach with confidence and humour?
If YOU feel ready then you are – and that is all that matters.
You do not…’need to or have to’… join any Reiki club to teach or, for that matter, heal anyone – just start doing it.
I have every confidence in all of you but then – that is just my opinion
Chuffin’ grand
Until next week…
Judith.
