Happy Mother’s Day for those in America and Canada 
But while we are on the subject of shin-digs let’s not forget to say… Happy Wesak for the Buddists too
And I’m happy to say that Chris and DC have finished decorating our breakfast room and it looks smashing, champion, chuffin’ grand and is now the nicest room in the house… ha ha ha!
We all have hidden talents like painting or carpeting up our sleeves but perhaps we don’t know about them until we find we need to use those talents. Then we say we have a natural aptitude or leaning towards those skills.
Not that Chris and DC are going to set up a painting and decorating company, anymore than I am going to become an interior design consultant… ha ha ha!
But we can all do something when pushed, and usually better than we first thought but if you want to excel at something you need to follow your heart, listen to your intuition and TRUST yourself.
This will give you the confidence to know whether you can just do something when necessary, or if you really do have a natural knack for it
So – What’s your Reiki Talent?
Okay then, onto a question…
Dear Judith,
I have been listening to your Sunday morning discussions for weeks now and I took the Reiki-miniam still not sure course. I if Reiki is what I need. I feel that healing is one of the gifts that God has given us.
I feel very gifted… I connect very strongly on a spiritual level with myself and with others but when I try to connect with them with the intent of distance healing I feel more frustrated than anything because I don’t feel it working or see the results of that.
I have a friend who was trained by someone in distance healing and clearing of the bio-energy fields. When she works on me, I can feel her touching me even though she is around 800 miles away.
She sent me a copy of the text that she learned from but I am not ‘getting it’ I guess.
I feel like this is a gift that I would love to share with people. It has become very, very important to me.
Is Reiki right for me? Do I just need to practice more?

And my answer…
We are all unique expressions of the One Energy. We each have within us our own talents and our own set of brilliant skills
BUT, ONE technique or tablet will not cure ALL.
Perhaps distant healing is just not your cup of tea… not your forte… Perhaps YOU work better one to one, face to face.
It would not do for us all to be the same, or for us all to practice Reiki parrot fashion, because we each bring our own flavour, our own essence, to the table.
Behind each person who holds the ‘title’ of Reiki Master is the Reiki Master themselves and each individual Reiki Master will be slightly or even totally different.
Some Reiki Master’s will always be excellent gardeners and Reiki will make them more of who they are. Now they will excel at growing tomatoes even more than before!
Plants will seemingly smile to them as they walk through the garden.
Me… I can kill a pot plant at 20 paces no matter what I try to do… ha ha ha! Actually, that’s not strictly true nowadays as I am much better with green things than I used to be
Some Reiki Masters work solely with animals – but even here, some will perhaps prefer like big animals and others small.
You see, you can only BE YOU, so you might as well be the best you, you can possibly be and not bother trying to be like someone else.
Unless of course, it feels like the shoe fits… and they inspire you!
Here’s another similar question which I have broken up like a conversation…
Q… I work in a spiritual community and do Reiki there. I had a very well known teacher tell me that he feels it’s time for me to “move beyond” Reiki.
A… That sounds wonderful… but what does he mean?
Beyond Reiki to me, is when you flow forwards intuitively with the one energy that is you.
You move beyond the symbols and rituals and just are Reiki. And Reiki, of course, is just another name for the one energy.
The symbols and rituals are the tools of Reiki but you are the power behind it all
When you move beyond Reiki you will ‘know’ this, and you’ll know it without being told.
But perhaps you need encouragement to let go and fly
Q… He feels the level of his healing far exceeds what I do.
A… Hmmmm… energy work, healing, whatever… is all the same thing. You are either good at it or not.
It’s a case of finding what really works for YOU.
We can, most of us, bake a cake – but some people bake really superb cakes (like my stepmother) and other people’s cakes come out sunk, (which is more like the ones I make)… but it’s still a cake!
Some people are exceedingly good healers and others are the ‘bread and butter’ therapists…
…the regular mainstay of healers.
And all healers can have their exceptional clients too – the ones who make a miraculous recovery
Q… And from what I understand he is indeed a very gifted healer.
A… So are you! It’s a confidence thing
Q… I do not have “miraculous” healings on the spot and he apparently does.
A… So will you one day. And the more your confidence grows, the more confidence your clients will have and the more miracles you will apparently perform.
Q… Any suggestions for these kind of situations?
A… We are all capable of anything Don’t be overawed by other peoples’ talents. KNOW you are unique and individual and have unique and individual talents of your own.
Be inspired but not intimidated
Like Jesus said… YOU can do this and more… And if you don’t like Jesus or believe he ever existed – well now I’m saying it to you too… ha ha ha!
(By the way… was Jesus given a certificate from God? Or were his healings just judged on their effectiveness? Just thinking out loud…)
Trust your gut and when you are ready to go beyond Reiki healing you will do so quite naturally.
There is only the One Energy… you are it and it is you. You are Reiki and Reiki is you…
BEing YOU is Reiki enough
