Here is this week’s question: Never Finding Reiki
Q… I am a UK guy living and working in Thailand.
For most of my adult life I have searched for that special something which enhances my life on the spiritual, mental and physical plains. I have tried several different things, some of which I have stuck at for years but still not 100% sure if they are my way.
I took Reiki level 1 and 2 about 8 years ago, but never really practiced or used it – although the attunements were really good.
I also got the DVD attunements from a Reiki site online which I used, but again never really followed up with it.
Then last night, whilst laying in bed I decided to give myself some self treats – I only got my head done but felt a great feeling, so today at work have found your site.
For me, if I am going to proceed with Reiki it will probably be mainly for myself and maybe my fiancé.
What benefits can I expect from this even though I am not practising on others, how long per day would I need to spend giving self treats to increase the benefits (I am sure everyone has excuses – but I work 6 days per week and quite long hours so don’t get much free time).
I want to commit myself to something but end up doing little bits of lots of things, thereby diluting their effect and confusing myself and want this to stop.
(I think our new Reiki + EFT Procrastination meditation from last week, may be of help here… ha ha ha!)
There are so many self help type products on the market it’s difficult to know which way to turn – any advice you can give me would be appreciated.
And my answer:
A…What benefits can you expect from Reiki? Well, that’s a bit of a ‘try it and see’ type question and answer.
Each person experiences their own response from amazing to that was nice 🙂
The more you use your Reiki on yourself, the better and quicker you will see results appearing in your life.
Excuses or procrastination?… ha ha ha! We all know that one So I would suggest you pay attention to your nature.
Your nature appears to be one of a sprinter not a marathon runner. You enjoy short bursts of activity and stimulation.
Your attention is short and you are more buzzy. But that’s OK, it’s absolutely you, right now. 🙂
I would simply suggest working with your nature and not trying to force yourself to do something which sounds boring before you start… ha ha ha!
So, last thing at night as you fall asleep, start running the Reiki for yourself.
Try practicing by following the Reiki mini course to begin with…
…and if you fall asleep, great, but if you don’t for 15 minutes, then that’s great too.
And, as you start to relax, unwind and slow down a little…
You’ll maybe find sitting for 12 minutes each morning and running the hand positions for just 1 minute in each position, becomes a joyful and beneficial pleasure, rather than a chore.
Or do some Reiki on yourself while sitting on the loo instead of reading… ha ha ha!
Little bits here and there all add up during the course of a day, week, month or year.
So, follow you nature, don’t fight it and life will flow more congenially for you all ways round.
