Q…Here’s the thing… I took Reiki 2 in New York many years ago, since I was already fairly advanced in other systems I didn’t feel I had to go further. When I found your master course I took that and it has been excellent.
My question is this, when I took Reiki 1, we held the positions for a full minute, when I advanced to Reiki 2, I was told that half a minute was all that was required. I find it’s adequate but some people expect the full minute.
What do you say?
p.s… I’m not just an ordinary bloke, I am also Louise Hay’s homeopath, ha ha ha!
And my answer:
A… Well, you know what I am going to say before I say it, don’t you 🙂
Trust yourself 🙂
You may want to just stay in one position for 15-20 minutes and then move on, giving very little time to other positions and then finish doing the long held position again.
There is no right or wrong way… simply your intuitive way on that day, at that moment in time.
Trust yourself… you do know what to do. Let your hands guide you.
It is that easy.
To start with, the hand positions are a structured guide to help you get going. In the Hand Positions Package we show you 2 ways of doing a treatment on a client – one on a couch and one in a chair.
And the chimed music is also good to give you an idea of when to change hand positions and to keep the session within an hour.
But as with all things Reiki – once you feel confident in yourself you will not need to use these frameworks, unless you wish too.
They are simply helpful to give structure to a session and to help with timing a session but you are the power, you are the important factor.
Remember, the hand positions mean nothing without your hands… ha ha ha!
Until next week…
